dental-roomWe strive to provide you and your family with all your dental needs

PREVENTION: Probably our most important service, getting our patients into prevention and maintenance is the goal of dental treatment. Once we make your teeth comfortable, functional and esthetically satisfying, we want to keep them that way. Naturally, regular cleanings and exam form the basis of our program. But some patients need measures beyond the routine twice-a-year recall appointments.

Every adult needs to brush twice and floss once daily. If, for instance, a patient has periodontal (gum) problems, we often need to see that person three or four times a year. In addition, we may recommend adjuncts such as additional home care procedures, prescription medications, various mouthwashes, or occasionally an antimicrobial medicine that we place into problem areas.

Decay continues to a major dental disease (yes, it’s a disease) in both adults and children. Again, some people have more problems with decay than others. For these individuals we may use extra fluoride treatments, more frequent radiographs, or antimicrobial and fluoride rinses. There is a new(er) product on the market, called MI paste that contains calcium and phosphate in a form that encourages the recalcification of teeth.

RESTORING TEETH: We offer all the proven-effective materials, old and new. Bonded composite (tooth colored), or amalgam fillings take care of the majority of cases. Crowns and onlays are made of gold, porcelain and gold or one of many ceramic derivitives.

REPLACING TEETH: Missing teeth can be replaced by removable partial dentures, full dentures, full dentures with implants to help retention, Fixed bridges, and implants. Implants give us so many options not available twenty years ago.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT: We do almost all root canal treatment in house including re-treatment and surgery. With the new techniques, these procedures are easier to tolerate.

TOOTH EXTRACTION: We do almost all extractions, with the exceptions of third molars (AKA wisdom teeth) and those patients requiring general anesthesia.

PERIODONTAL (GUM) TREATMENT: We do many basic periodontal treatments. We now know that prevention and maintenance is key.

DENTURE AND PARTIAL REPAIR: We can usually get them done the same or next day.

CHILDREN’S DENTAL CARE: We treat children, some of our favorite patients. Children’s dental care has evolved over the years. We now see children within a year after their first teeth erupt, instead of waiting for “the age of reason”, which is about three years. The idea is to establish a “dental home” for your child, making them more comfortable in these surroundings. Prevention is the first priority here. Research has shown that caregivers’ dental health has a great influence on a child. Diet, homecare, and the use (or non-use) of fluoride also influence a child’s dental health and have been updated in recent years.
